Counsel
Called to the Bar in 2009 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn
Zakir has twenty years of immigration law experience, which includes his time employed by the Home Office as an Immigration Officer. Across his legal career he has represented drivers accused of driving offences throughout the country, and he also acts in family and commercial law matters, specialising in ADR as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Under the Bar's Direct Access Scheme, Zakir is able to receive instructions directly from members of the public and from companies, without the need for a solicitor. He is also authorised to conduct litigation, meaning he can manage a case from first advice through to hearing.
Zakir travels extensively and is regularly to be found in courts throughout the country, representing clients in immigration matters, motoring offences such as speeding, drink driving and failing to provide details, and in family and civil proceedings. Clients who instruct Zakir deal with him directly from start to finish.
